“Living in rural communities, it is important to ensure that the health and wellness of our citizens remains a top priority. AMY Wellness Foundation will be dedicated to supporting organizations that are making impactful and meaningful changes in the lives of our neighbors, families and friends.”
— Dr. Randy Ellis, Board Chair
We serve nonprofits and organizations working to improve the health and
wellness of individuals in our communities through capacity building, financial support and collaboration. Together, we will build an improved culture of health.
AMY Wellness Foundation eliminates health barriers by partnering with organizations and community members who share our vision to transform the quality of health and wellness of Avery, Mitchell and Yancey counties.
The AMY Wellness Foundation ensures diversity among its Board of Directors. The Board is comprised of representatives from each county we serve and mirrors the demographic make-up of our three-county region.
The AMY Wellness Foundation includes community members from Avery, Mitchell and Yancey county working together alongside local nonprofits in the eastern region of Western North Carolina. Promoting positive change to the health and wellness of our community, AMY Wellness Foundation supports nonprofits that address the social determinants of health based on the highest needs of our community.
The AMY Wellness Foundation is focused on inclusion of all community members regardless of age, race, gender, identity, orientation or socioeconomic status. We will maintain this mantra within board member assembly, distribution of funds, employee hires and community involvement.
Our first grant started August 1st through Sept 15th. There will be a second grant cycle in 2020. More information will be available after the new year.
Our office is located at 31 Cross St, Spruce Pine, NC
