Starli McDowell​

As a Mitchell County native, Ms. McDowell started her nursing career as a Certified Nursing Assistant in 1988. She went on to receive her LPN Nursing License in 1993 and an Associate Degree in Nursing at Mayland Community College in 2009. She works part-time at Smoky Ridge in Burnsville and serves as the Development Director for Mitchell and Yancey Counties.

Ms. McDowell enjoys her volunteer work with Toe River Valley Watch, The Orchard at Altapass, Blue Ridge Resource and Development, Spruce Pine Main Street, and as a member on the Mitchell County Chamber Tourism Committee.
