AMY Wellness Foundation Opens 2026 Community Investment Grant Cycle

AMY Wellness Foundation (AMYWF) has opened its Fall 2026 Community Investment Grant Cycle. Nonprofit and other eligible partners working in Avery, Mitchell, and Yancey counties are encouraged to apply. Applications are open through October 16, 2026.

This year’s grant cycle was shaped by feedback from nonprofit partners through a regional Recovery Listening Session and a partner survey. Organizations shared that while funding for programs and projects remains important, they also need greater flexibility to support staff, operations, infrastructure, and organizational capacity as they continue responding to community needs.

“We heard from our nonprofit partners that flexibility is important right now,” said Luke Howe, Executive Director of AMY Wellness Foundation. “Organizations know where resources are needed most. This grant cycle allows them to request program and project support, unrestricted general operating support, and capacity building funds. Whether the need is delivering services, supporting staff and day-to-day operations, or investing in the long-term strength of the organization, we want our funding to reflect the realities of the work happening in our communities.”

Through the Community Investment Grant Cycle, organizations may apply for Disaster Recovery & Resilience Grants of up to $75,000 to address the ongoing impacts of Hurricane Helene and support long-term recovery and resilience, or Community Impact Grants of up to $50,000 for work that improves health and well-being across Avery, Mitchell, and Yancey counties.

Since its inception in 2019, AMY Wellness Foundation has invested more than $18.2 million through 162 grants and community investment projects, working alongside more than 50 nonprofit partners across the region. During this year’s grant cycle, AMYWF continues that commitment with a focus on the recovery and resilience of our communities and strengthening the capacity of the nonprofit partners doing the work every day.

Applications are open through October 16, 2026. For complete grant guidelines and to apply, visit amywellnessfoundation.org/funding-opportunities/.
